I never strapped on a Cardinals football helmet, although I was the team manager in 8th grade. I have always been a passionate fan for Newton Cardinals Football. I can remember my Dad taking me to games in the 1980 season and I've been a fan ever since. I am a 1992 Newton Graduate, a freelance sports writer for the Newton Daily News, and I have the privilege to be on the sidelines to help out with the chains on Friday nights. I'm not a crazed fan that makes it to every game, but I am a fan interested in being informed and knowing the history of the Newton Football tradition.
