Mt. Pleasant USBC Home

The Mt. Pleasant USBC Association, Inc. is a merged Association and was founded in May 2006. This Association is charted by the USBC and its Association number is 81738. Membership of the Mt. Pleasant USBC Association, Inc. currently stands at 393 as of January 2008. The Association may be reached by calling Iris Bowling Center at 319-385-8735 or by emailing the Assoc. Manager Marlys Fear or the Assoc. President Kevin Kirchner. Any contributions to the website by the local membership are welcome and can be submitted to the Webmaster.

Vision Statement

The Vision of the Mt Pleasant USBC Association is to add growth to the Sport of Bowling in both our Adult and Youth programs.

Mission Statement

The Mt. Pleasant USBC Association ensures the integrity and protects the future of the sport of bowling. To provide programs and service to expand the sport and to enhance the experience of bowling here in Mt. Pleasant and where ever we may be bowling.

Congratulations to Laurie Gotsch who has been named the new Association Manager of the Mt Pleasant USBC. Laurie will replace Marlys Fear who will be retiring from her duties. Marlys has been the Association Manager since the merger of the three associations in 2006. We thank her for the excellent service she has provided during that time, and during the time of the Women's association. Good luck to both Laurie and Marlys.

Summer League bowlers, the final standing sheet has been delayed getting to the website because of a computer crash. We'll get a final copy scanned in soon. Thanks for your patience.

Mt Pleasant Women bowlers were successful at the Iowa State Women's Tournament held in Carroll, IA this past Spring. To see who all cashed, visit the Bowler's In the News or the Iowa State Women's website Tournament page .

Congratulations to the following Mt Pleasant bowlers who cashed at the State Women's Senior Tournament. In Doubles was, Pat Richenberger, Faye Guthrie, Karole Miller, and Roma Dean. In singles were, Elsie Hobbs, and Pauline Spraker. Full standings and prize list can be found at the Iowa Women's USBC website's Tournament page .

Iowa 600 Club members were able to participate in a "Triple Dip" Tournament while at Women's State in Carroll, IA. Scores used were those that were rolled during tournament play. Marlys Fear came in first place with her score in the Team event and as well cashed in the Singles event. Also cashing with scores shot in the team event were Becky Johnson and Carmen Miyoshi. Johnson also had her scores help her cash in the Doubles event and the Singles event.

The Iowa State USBC BA Open Tournament was held in Ottumwa this past Spring. Some local bowlers found success on the lanes. To see who cashed, please visit the Bowler's In the News page.
