Who is the Iowa City USBC Association? |
The Iowa City USBC Association was a charter member of the American Bowling Congress. Organized on August 27, 1959 and awarded a charter by the American Bowling Congress on November 6 of that year. On May 1, 2006 we were awarded a charter with the United States Bowling Congress. We re-incorporated as the Iowa City USBC BA. |
On Aug
1st
2008 the Iowa City USBC BA and the Iowa City USBC WBA megered to
form Iowa City USBC, The Youth Association is also under this
umbrella. In the 2011-12 season the Iowa City USBC acepted the Powesheik County Asociation into the Iowa City Association. |
What does the Iowa City USBC Association do? |
Checks and certifies all bowling lanes Assigns a member of the Board of Directors to each bowling center to help sanctioned league bowlers Processes all league sanction applications to the United States Bowling Congress Promotes and conducts association tournaments Distributes league supplies to all league secretaries Maintains individual records of all members Interprets rules, furnishes counsel and guidance to assist members and leagues in settling problems Conducts hearings relative to infraction of USBC and city association rules Assists with the West and City High School Bowling program Publishes annual yearbook showing averages of USBC sanctioned bowlers for winter season leagues Maintains averages of USBC sanctioned bowlers for summer season leagues Processes all USBC awards and distributes to the league secretary Processes all honor score award applications to the USBC and presents the awards to the bowlers Holds an annual Hall of Fame dinner |
